Wellness at The Cottage
The Cottage, tucked away in the old pump house, a thoughtfully reimagined space made for calm and restorative moments.

The Cottage is our little pocket of peace. A space to leave the to-do list at the door and settle into calm. Find out more through the women who know it best, Jemma, owner, and Katie, beauty therapist.
What makes The Cottage treatment room such a special part of The Maltings experience?
The moment you walk into our quaint flint building, we want you to feel your shoulders drop and that long exhale breath out. Having a treatment, whether it’s massage, facial or reflexology, is the perfect restorative extra to make your stay that bit more relaxing and memorable.
Which treatment would you book for yourself after a busy week?
Katie – Oh definitely! Our Drift Away Massage (Full body massage including the scalp). There is nothing better than melting away the week’s tension, especially if like me you carry tension in your head and shoulders. Cocooned in a warm bed, the scents of essential oils, and a cup of herbal tea after the treatment to unwind. Hands down my fave!
Jemma – My favourite is a 1 hour 15 minute hot stone massage. The ultimate treatment in relaxation; smooth volcanic stones melt away any tension, ease tired muscles, release stress and you leave deeply at peace.
What kinds of treatments do you offer – and how do I choose the right one for me?
We have a varied treatment menu and have made sure there is something to suit all, we also offer couples treatments in our spacious double room.
The Pevonia spa facial products that we use are 100% natural – they are really great for all skin types and concerns.
A consultation can take place to find the type of massage for your specific needs, whether it’s a gentle Swedish massage for relaxation or a deeper tissue massage to ease muscular tension.
Can I book a treatment even if I’m not staying overnight at The Maltings?
Absolutely, we are open to all. You can book through The Maltings here or give us a call if you would like to chat about finding the right treatment to suit your needs.
What’s it like stepping into The Cottage for the first time?
Creating a calm, welcoming space, where you keep your worries at the door. From the moment you walk in we invite your body to soften, your mind to quieten and your nervous system to feel safe.
We’ve chosen natural colours and textures to mimic our beautiful surroundings of North Norfolk.
Our hope is that you feel held in our space.
Do I need to prepare for my treatment or bring anything along?
Nope, just bring yourself and we will take care of the rest.
What happens if I have a health condition or special request?
No need to worry. We can easily adapt any of our treatments to work around you or will guide you towards a more suitable treatment.
Can I treat someone else – maybe as a gift or surprise?
Absolutely, the perfect gift if we do say so ourselves! In a world where we are spinning plates and have so many pressures upon us, having a reason to just stop and be still is the perfect gift.
Gift vouchers are available in house or online.
What’s your favourite part of being a therapist at The Maltings?
Katie – Everyone has such busy lives, and honestly I find it such a privilege to spend that time with someone to release emotions, energy and the weight that we all carry. The time being still is so sacred, it’s where healing begins.
Jemma – My Favourite part of being a therapist is seeing the transformation that happens in just one treatment. Guests often come in feeling tired and stressed but after their treatment leave calm and completely relaxed. It’s the best feeling to know I’ve helped create that moment of peace, a little escape from the world.
